With sadness we announce that Gerry passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the age of 77.

Survived by the love of his life Betty (nee Boyd) which he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Cherished and supportive father of William (Chrissy) and Tara. Proud ‘Grumpsie‘ to Grace, Amelie, Lena, Karter and Kamron. Dearly loved brother to Sonya (Keith) Ivey,Pat (Roger) Armstrong and Beverly Moncrief. Sister-in-law Bonnie (Cliff)Spry deceased; brother-in-law to Rick (Linda) Boyd.

Predeceased by his parents Bill & Lois Moncrief and brother Bill.

Gerry was a dedicated hard worker and good standing member with the Sheet Metal Local 30 Union for 50-years. Gerry was a lover of fastball and would often spend his summer months travelling with Betty to local fastball tournaments. Gerry enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and hunting and you could always find him listening to a loud tune.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Nisbett Funeral Home. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Gerry's life will take place on February 13, 2025 at the Peterborough Legion Branch 52, 1550 Lansdowne Street W from 2 pm - 6 pm.  Casual attire.  Please feel free to wear your cowboy hat.
