La Pampa, Argentina - The Quick Story:
Team Canada came up short in their opening game at the 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men's Pan American Championship, falling 4-0 to Mexico. Despite a solid defensive effort, the Canadians couldn’t get their offense going, as Mexico’s pitcher held them off the scoreboard.
Key Moment:
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Canada got a runner on base after Nick White drew a walk with no outs. However, Team Canada couldn’t take advantage of the opportunity. Mexico responded in the top of the sixth with three consecutive singles, scoring one run and extending their lead to 4-0. That was all Mexico needed, as Canada couldn’t rally back.

- Nic Neid took the start in the circle, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and striking out 6.
- Dale Schweyer pitched 1.2 innings in relief, giving up no runs on 2 hits with 2 strikeouts.
