Team Canada Ready to Compete at the 2025 WBSC U18 Women’s World Cup Finals
Team Canada is in Group A and will open the tournament against Chinese Taipei at 3:30pm CDT (4:30pm EDT) on Saturday and will complete its preliminary round schedule with a doubleheader Sunday against China at 11:00am CDT (12:30pm EDT) and the United States at 6:30pm CDT (7:30pm EDT). Group B will feature Czechia, Japan, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
At the conclusion of the preliminary round, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, with the bottom two competing in the placement round.
Team Canada earned their spot in the World Cup Finals after finishing second at the 2024 WBSC U18 Women’s World Cup Group C Stage in Dallas, Tex. last year.
The Canadian team is led by head coach Keith Mackintosh (Melfort, Sask.), who will be joined by assistant coaches Mel Basilio (Oshawa, Ont.) and Kaleigh Rafter (Guelph, Ont.). The roster includes six (6) returning athletes who competed at the 2024 U18 Women’s World Cup Group C Stage.
