ROSTER
All teams must complete a roster and identify the pitchers who will be throwing in the tournament to ensure they are classified in the proper division. Please visit the NAFA World Series website at playnafa.org to review the "Pitchers List" to make sure your pitcher is properly classified in the division you will be participating in.
Pitchers classified in a lower division can pitch in a higher division, but they cannot pitch the opposite way, Higher to Lower. If the pitcher is not classified, follow the directions on the website on how to add their name to the list because if they are not on the list, they will not be able to pitch in the tournament.
Rosters are due by April 1, 2026, so we can review and approve your pitcher(s). All coaches should have received a link to the team's roster page to enter and identify the pitchers. If you have not received a link to your roster page, please reach out to Jesse Ortiz so he can provide it to you.
The roster you enter in Tourney Machine will be your official roster. Players not listed on the team roster will not be allowed to participate in that team. It is important to make sure you include any nickname on the roster so the name on the lineup card you turn into the umpires matches what is listed on the roster to avoid any confusion.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The tournament rules are located on the playnafa.org website under the "Rules" tab.
The Masters division will follow the NAFA World Series rules.
The A-Major and A division teams will have the option to bat up to 10 players using the Extra Hitter (EH). A Designated Runner (DR) and a Courtesy Runner (CR) may be used for the pitcher or catcher ONLY, but it must be the last recorded out.
A-Major and A division will use the 3-game guarantee NAFA bracket while the Masters will have a different format (Pool play followed by bracket play). The last Championship game is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday with no "IF" games on any divisions. The winner in the A-Major, and two winners in the A division will have their 2026 NAFA World Series entry fee paid for the division they participated in.
Please keep in mind that with any tournament(s) the scheduled times and games may be pushed back during the course of the day so please plan flights accordingly.
If your normal routine is to have a conference with all your players before the first pitch, please do that before the coin flips or better yet, while the game before you are in play so we can keep games running as close to on-time as possible since the city has placed time limits per day. The umpires will be instructed to get you moving and start the game without wasting any time. Also, keep your teams moving in and out of the dugouts as quickly as possible. The courtesy runner for the catcher is there for a reason, to get their gear on while the inning is in play and not after the last out.
BAT TESTING
Bat testing will be conducted at both parks. Each Bat must be examined and compression tested, if passed, then the NAFA Staff will affix a current “NAFA approved Bat Stamp” on the bat. If it is discovered that a batter completed his turn at bat with a bat that has not been tested (and stickered), the batter will be called out, runners will return to the base occupied at the time of pitch, and all outs made will stand.
