The Vancouver Grey Sox defeated Prince George Black Bears in 4 entertaining
ball games before good crowds at South Memorial Park on the May 13-14
weekend. The fans were treated to some great offence against top level
pitching, and the weather was spectacular - sunny and well over 70 degrees
F. Final scores were 5-0 and 3-2 for the Grey Sox on Saturday, 12-6 and 6-2
on Sunday.

For the Grey Sox, LF Jeff Kawaguchi was 3/4 with a HR and 4 RBI's, RF Derek
Mayson was also 3/4 and drove in 2 runs, 2B Dan Whiteford was 2/4 with an
RBI CF Scott Newitt was 2/4 with 2 RBI's, and 1B Gerry Kennedy was 2/3.

Prince George was led by RF Jason Fulton who was 2/4 with 4 RBI's, while C
Chad Ghostkeeper, 3B Glenn Ormsby, and DP Doug Cain were all 2/4.

The Sox offence was keyed by 2B Trevor Johnstone's 3/3, 1 RBI performance.
RF Sean Cameron was 2/3 with an RBI. C Brian Banner was 1/2 with 2 RBI's and
a BB. Derek Mayson was 1/2 to complete a torrid weekend during which he
batted .600.

For Prince George, Evan Potskin had a 2R HR.

The Grey Sox, 10-0 to start the season, are off next weekend. 6 players
(pitchers Underhill and Smith, infielders Johnstone and Schellenberg, OF
Newitt, and versatile Derek Mayson) will attend the Canadian National Team
Selection Camp in Kitchener, Ont.

The Grey Sox will then visit P.G. for a 4 game set May 27-28.
