Gamereports on Decos EHS - Santa Isabel Zaragoza and Decos EHS - Halcones Tenerife

Decos EHS beats Santa Isabel Zaragoza 4-1

Decos EHS pitcher and former Fedlock Falcon player and manager Mike Groves started this game as a pitcher and did fine. Mike took 5K's and Zaragoza got 7 hits of him. Offensively it took us untill the bottom of the third to score. Zaragoza scored one run in the top of the third. Decos EHS scored after Michael Cameron reached 1st on a walk, stole second, advanced to third on the throwing error and scored on a passed ball.

In the sixth we were able to extend our score with three extra runs. Bernard Hale hit a lead off HR over the left field fence. After that Beaumont was walked, Zomerdijk put down a great bunt down the third base line followed by a push bunt by Michael Cameron that advanced all runners.

Dave Hazel stepped up and hit a stand up double to left field which scored two runners. Mike Groves struck out the last two batters in the 7th and took the win

Play of the tournament....Line drive of the glove of pitcher Groves, short stop Michel Groenhart who was on his way to second, caught the deflected bal on hi sthird base side barehanded.. Everybody agreed...absolutely ESPN material.

ISF World CUP - Day 3
Game of the day was evening game Japan vs Czech Republic:
Despite the fact the game was live on TV we still had good crowd - full
stadium pushing the Czech team against Japan. Unfortunately for Czechs,
starting pitcher Roman Matuska allowed 3 hits in the very first inning and
let them scored one with runners on second and third. Than coach replaced
him bringing the number one Lubos Vrbensky. Umpire called illegal pitch to
new pitcher ! and score was 2:0. Vrbensky came with excelent pitching for
the rest of the game and did not allowed any more runs for Japan.
Czechs came back in the top of third when Prochazka hit solo homerun, and
tied the game in top of seventh when Vacha was hit by pitch with bases
loaded.
The decision came in the tie-breaker. Czech did not score when pitcher
Hamaguchi struck out the first batter and than infielders took care of the
rest - two infield ground outs. Japan moved the runner from second to third
on passed ball and brought him home by single of Yokoyama.
Great fastball played by both teams was awarded by almost 10 minutes
standing ovation.....
