Labatt 2007 Senior Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

Press Release-Roebothan McKay Marshall (Newfoundland 1).

Coach Glenn Littlejohn has named 15 of the players who will make up the
roster for the Roebothan McKay Marshall team that will represent Softball
Newfoundland and Labrador in the Labatt 2007 Senior Men’s Canadian Fastpitch
Championships.

The Championships are scheduled for the Caribou Memorial Complex in St.
John’s East from August 26th to September 2nd.

Impact Signs is the Host team for the Championships and coach Bill Nixon is
expected to reveal the roster for that club in the immediate future.

Littlejohn, from Bay Roberts, will have Glenn Mercer, also from Bay Roberts,
as assistant coach. A team manager will be named soon.

With several additional players to be added, the Roebothan McKay Marshall
roster includes:

Sean O'Brien, catcher, is a National Team member and is considered one of
the best receivers in the world today. His knowledge behind the plate
enhances the performances of any pitcher he catches. He represented Softball
Newfoundland and Labrador at one senior national.

Scott Dwyer, catcher, is a veteran catcher in the St. John’s Senior Men’s
League and brings his experience provincially and nationally to the
position. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at one senior
national.

Frank Cox, pitcher, is a veteran member of Canada’s National Team and has
been the most dominant pitcher at the Nationals during the last ten years as
a “go-to-guy” on the mound. A 6’2”, 230 pound right-hander, he has played
for five Canadian champions, three ISC champions and one ASA champion, while
winning six national MVP pitcher selections.

Ward Gosse, pitcher/infielder, has been the most dominant player
provincially, leading his teams to numerous championships. The all-time home
run hitter of the St. John's Senior Softball league, he is closing in on
many hitting and pitching records as well. He represented Softball
Newfoundland and Labrador at 12 senior nationals.

Rob O'Brien, pitcher/infielder, has performed with Canada's National Team on
many occasions and continues to be an effective pitcher/hitter for any team
on which he plays.

Blair Ezekiel, infielder/pitcher, is one of a crop of rising local talent,
playing this season for Orillia in the International Softball Congress
Travel League and leading his North Atlantic Marine to first place locally.
He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at two senior nationals.

Jason Hill, outfielder/pitcher is part of the local young rising talent and
will be a stalwart for years to come on any team representing our province
on the national stage. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at
one senior national.

Geoff Evely, infielder, is one of the local talented young players who has
played for Canada and other teams throughout North America during the past
several years. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at one
senior national.

Darrell Walsh, infielder, is a veteran member of many provincial teams
playing at National championships. A former national all-star and batting
champion, he adds a wealth of experience to the team. He represented
Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at seven senior nationals.

Ed McDonald, infielder, - is “Mr. Versatility” and can provide a spark off
the bench when required. He is no stranger to National competition playing
on provincial championship teams like Fog City and Conception Bay Central
Juniors. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at four senior
nationals.

Michael Carroll, infielder, a rookie to the senior National scene, will
provide speed and defense to the team.

Blair Langmead, outfielder, is the all-time hits leader of the St. John's
Senior Softball League and no stranger to elite competition. He has been a
fixture for years on provincial teams, winning several National awards along
the way. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at 12 senior
nationals.

Bradley Ezekiel, outfielder, is part of the local “kiddie corp” who will
bring great defense, speed and skill to the team. He is a player to watch in
future years.

Colin Abbott, outfielder, has been a member of six Canadian National teams
in international competition and was designated as the world’s best softball
hitter. He brings a lengthy resume to the championships and will be a key
contributor to the team. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador
at 12 senior nationals.

Stephen Mullaley, outfielder, is our newest addition to Canada's National
Team. He plays with Orillia in the International Softball Congress Travel
League and is one of the rising stars nationally. He is a true “five tool”
player. He represented Softball Newfoundland and Labrador at one senior
national.
