The Comox Valley Cannons from Courtenay, British Columbia defeat
Cleons Auto to Win the 47th Seattle Invitational.

The Comox Valley Cannons hung on to defeat Cleons Auto 5 - 3 to win
the 47th Annual Seattle Invitational. The Cannons from Courtenay,
British Columbia, jumped out to a 2 - 0 lead in the bottom of the
third inning on a 2-run home run by the Cannon first baseman Brad
Douglas. The Cannons extended their lead to 5 - 0 in the bottom of the
5th inning on 4 consecutive hits. Left fielder, Kyle Law, lead off the
inning with a triple. Right fielder, Michael Pohl, followed with a
double to drive in Law. Brad Douglas then singled to drive in Pohl.
Center fielder Tyler Douglas completed the scoring by driving in his
brother Brad. However, Cleons Auto would not give up. In the 7th
inning, as the Cannons Joe Robbins (Tournament MV-Pitcher) began to
tire and yielded a couple of walks, Cleons Auto came back with 3 runs
highlighted by Sean Praven's 2-run single. Robbins recoved to get the
last 3 outs and wrap up the Championship for the Cannons.

The hard fought Championship Game featured each team's workhorse
pitcher. Ryan Divish of Cleons Auto (Tournament All-Star Pitcher)
started all 7 of their games in the tournament. Joe Robbins pitched in
5 of the Cannons 6 games. Robbins finished the Championship Game with
12 K's.
