Rice Creek Lightning Win MVD Sports Tournament

The Rice Creek Lightning(formerly Sportsman Park Lightning) won the MVD Spring Classic in Ashland last weekend with a record of 5-0, improving their season record to 17-1. The Lightning defeated the Ashland Merchants(3-1), Orr Park(9-4 and 10-0), MVD Sports(7-2), and Akron(17-2). The Lightning also won their opening tournament in Colwater, MI defeating the Goshen Gators, Suburban Insulation, Blues Softball, Duncan Outlaws, and D.C. Current. The team plans to compete in the ISC II and ASA A National after winning three straight Michigan State Championships and finishing 3rd at the ASA B National last year with a record of 10-2.
