Team Easton wins 5th Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoff title

Ottawa Team Easton won their fifth consecutive Greater Ottawa Fastball League championship and the I4C Consulting Trophy, sweeping the best-of-five final series with a 5-2 win Wednesday night in Stittsville, ON over the Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric.

Easton finished third of eight teams in the regular season, but ran the table with eight consecutive playoff victories to win the title, defeating Manotick Lomor Printers in the first round and the Stittsville 56ers in the semi-finals.

West Carleton Electric finished fifth in the regular season, but had a strong playoff run, defeating Quyon COMBAT Flyers in the first round and Carp I4C Victory (GOFL regular season champions) in the semi-finals.  This was the second finals appearance in four years for WC Electric.  They lost in the finals in 2004, also to Team Easton.

Dan Konkle lead the way for Team Easton with a 7-0 pitching record.  Konkle's stats for the playoffs were: 46 innings pitched, 5 earned runs, 0.76 ERA, with 3 shut outs.

Dan Konkle had the win for Easton, throwing a two-hitter, while Brad Porter also threw well in taking the loss for WC Electric allowing five hits.  Due to diamond unavailability at Easton's home park in Stittsville, the game was played at a neutral site in Carp.
Randy Peck had two doubles and the game-winning RBI for Easton in the bottom of the 6th.  Dan Konkle and Scott Marion also had RBIs for Easton.  Shawn Rebertz had the lone RBI for WC Electric.

Dan Konkle had the win for Easton, throwing a four-hitter. Jim Ryan took the loss for WC Electric and had relief from both Brad Porter and Steve Cavanagh.
Easton used the long ball in this game, with four solo home runs from John Peck, Cory Morrison, Randy Peck and Dave Tubman. Troy Wilson had the only RBI for WC Electric.

Dan Konkle once again had the pitching victory for Easton, bringing a no-hitter into the sixth, before eventually allowing four hits. Brad Porter threw well with a five hit performance for WC Electric.
Easton took a commanding 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Randy Peck had three runs batted in, including a solo homerun in the sixth.  Chad Milne had the other two RBIs for Easton on a triple. Jon Daley and Troy Wilson drove in runs for WC Electric.
