Hogs Split with Rock Valley Club Team

The DeKalb Hogs traveled to Rockford, Il. Wednesday night to play the RVC fastpitch team in a DH.
Game 1
The Hogs scored two in the first as Jay Armes drove in Matt Smith (single) and Mike Drew drove in Tommy Crouch (walk). Brian Tobin pitched well allowing two runs on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts. The Hogs then scored three in the top of the fifth with a 2 RBI single from Mike Drew that scored Tommy Crouch (single) and Matt Smith (single). Shaun Ebert also knocked in Mike Drew. Matt Smith added a home run in the seventh for the 6-2 win.

In game two, Ron Elgin of RVC baffled the Hogs with his knuckleball. The only hits were by Shaun Cavasos and Matt Smith. Brian Tobin took the loss pitching his second game of the night. The final score was 7-0. The loss dropped the Hogs to 3-3. They go to Yorkville tomorrow night to play a DH at 7pm.
