The announcement that addy has retired may mean little to some but, to me, it is a real sad day and the end of an era. 20 years ago Glen Verge asked me who I thought Owen Sond should take
to ISC world tourrnamet as a pickup and replied " that young Smith from the Burlington team " and they did. For me, he could do it all. A brillant 2nd baseman, a great clutch hitter, and a leader who could get the
big hit when needed whether as a member with the Toronto Gators in the 90's or those great years with Terry Baytor and team Canada.
Last year at the ISC in Kitchener I sat down to watch Jarvis play and out walked Clark Statts to 2nd base and their was Adam sitting on the bench. Yes, it was disturbing, Chris Jones, Brian Patton,
Ray Tilley played until they retired so, where was the justice.
Many of us who have been around the balllpark forever thank you for the memories. "ADDY"
