Steven G. Pollack passes

November 11, 2007

Newburgh, NY

I just wanted to let people in the fastpitch world know that last Sunday Nov. 4, 2007 , The Heflin Builders lost one of their main stays in Steve Pollack, known to all as "Magoo" . Magoo was a graduate of Arizona University and was 65 yrs. old and was also involved with the Middletown OTB Fastpitch Teams of the 80's. I played with a Tom MacAvoy led Heflin Team for 6 years and remember the long van rides with Mac and Magoo to Canada.  One thing about the great game of Fastpitch Softball is that you meet some great people in your journeys, Magoo was one of those people. We were not one of those big budget teams, we were backed by good , honest , hard working people and Magoo was one of them. I just did not want to let his passing go unnoticed. Thanks for your time.
