On behalf of Colin Smith and myself, I want to thank everyone for attending the Canada East ISC League meeting on Sunday morning.

 

Out of this productive meeting, which included representatives from seven teams (plus Kitchener Riversharks who were absent but have indicated their support) I think we have the basis to form a very good league for the 2008 season.

 

There are a couple of options for a season-opening tournament in Kitchener/St. Clements.

 

Utilizing a mix of mini tournaments with possible hosts in St. Thomas & Owen Sound, weeknight games in Kitchener, Niagara, Jarvis, Wyevale & Palermo and invitational tournament games in Woodstock, Jarvis and Niagara amongs others, should allow all teams to play at least a minimum number of games leading into a playoff tournament.

 

This would meet the needs of teams who are looking for exclusive weekend play as well as those who would prefer more weeknights.

 

We will work on bringing a more concrete proposal to the next meeting, but as mentioned, we are willing to be as flexible and creative as possible in structuring a league that meets your needs.

 

Please note that the next league meeting is the 2008 AGM to be held at 9 am on Sunday January 13 at the Grand Valley Golf Club.
