Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League Results

May 29, 2006

Denver, CO

Denver, Colorado

The first two weekends are in the books for the
Inaugural RMFL Travel League.

The first weekend of the league was also the first time
that Cedar Ridge of Roosevelt,Utah had ever been able to
play a game at home. They have no city league and no other
team in the Uinta Basin to play.

The Mountain States Rebels traveled to Roosevelt on the
29th and 30th of April for a 4 game set.

Cedar Ridge swept the saturday twin-bill 7-6 and 4-2
with Wes Nielsen getting the first win and his father
getting the second. Dave Parker took the losses in both
games for the Rebels. Sunday morning again saw two tight
contests as Cedar Ridge again swept the Rebels 8-7 and a 2-1
nailbiter that saw a great throw from behind the plate to
throw out a advancing runner at second to end the game. Wes
Nielsen and Shawn Nielsen combined for the two Cedar Ridge
wins and Dave Parker again shouldered the pitching duties
and the two losses for the Rebels.

May 14th and 15th saw the Rebels traveling to
Laramie,Wyoming for a 4 game set against Brown and Gold
Outlet of Laramie.

Game 1 saw Dave Parker take the rubber against Casey
Campbell of BG. The Rebels shutout the Laramie squad into
the 6th and preserved the win. Dave Parker took the win with
Casey Campbell taking the loss. Game 2 saw the Laramie bats
awaken against Dean Parker as they won a 13-3. Sunday
Morning again had Dave Parker for the Rebels as they cruised
to a 6-3 win. Dean Parker took the ball in the second game
and took a 6-1 lead into the seventh only to lose 7-6.
Next weekend, the Salt Lake City Kings travel to
Roosevelt for a 3 game set against the Cedar Ridge fastpitch
team on Saturday June 3. This will be Salt Lake's first
time in league play.

June 24th and 25th see Roosevelt,Utah traveling to
Laramie for a 4 game set while the Rebels will be hosting
Universal Athletic from Gillette in Laramie.

Any team interested in either hosting or traveling for a
weekend in the Rocky Mountain area please drop me a note.
We have teams willing to come to your park at any time.
