With spring around the corner, the executive of the Jarvis Senior Fastball team would like to announce a new sponsorship deal that has resulting in the name of the team changing from the Merchants to the Gamblers. With the new sponsorship in place, the Gamblers are looking forward to the start of the 2008 season.
2008 Roster:
Paul Koert (P)- is a two time all-world pitcher who sports a 9-1 record in his past 3 WT with a 1.21 ERA and 93K's.
Andrew Phibbs (P)- back and healthy in 2008 and is eager to get back to 2006 form when he posted a 1.88 ERA at the WT.
Allan Phibbs (C)- batted .286 at the WT in 2007 and finished with a strong nationals.
Greg Courneyea (C) - has hit .326 combined at three WT and will see time at both corner positions as well as catcher.
Chris Shewfelt (C) - a two time all-world selection has hit a combined .257 at the past two WT.
Pat Graham (1B) - hit .304 at the WT and led the team in hitting in 2007.
Chad Staats (2B) - hit .429 in his first full time action at the WT.
Ryan Thompson (ss) - played through injuries in 2007 and hit .263 at the WT.
Matt Lyon (3B) - has a combined average of .267 in two WT appearances.
Steve Running (Ut) - was named All-world in 2007 hitting .400 for Innerkip.
Bill Simmons (OF) - the lead-off hitter hit .400 in 2007 and was an all-world selection with Kitchener in 2005.
John Brunton (OF) - has a combined average of .357 in his past three WT and hit .444 last year in Kitchener.
Rino Dambrosio (OF) - was an All-world selection the last time the WT was in Kimberly and hit .318 last year in Kitchener.

June 20-22 - Jarvis Gamblers Fastball Challenge (ISC Qualifier)
June 25-29 - Monkton Invitational ?

July 26-27 - ISC Travel League Tournament
August 2-3 - Provincial Championships
August 10-16 - ISC World Tournament @ Kimberly
August 24-31 - Canadian National Championships @ Saskatoon
