I am saddened to report that the father of Paul McCart, manager of the Alvinston Indians, passed away in Florida Wednesday evening at the age of 90.

Suddenly in Florida, on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 while on vacation, John David McCart of Glencoe in his 90th year. Predeceased by his wife Jeanne McCart (2005) and his son Jack (2001). Dear father of Mary Lou McMillan, Jim McCart, Mike McCart, Peter McCart (Vicki), Maggie Underhill, Dorothy Smith, Paul McCart and Larry McCart. Loved by his grandchildren, Joseph and Michael McMillan, Kevin, Greg, Derek and Richard McCart, Niki and Jessy Underhill, Peter, Johnathon, Matthew Smith and great grandchildren, Kailey, Ashley, Cheyenne, Marissa and Morgan. Predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Myers, and 4 brothers, Ed, Jim, Albert and Clarence McCart and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Bullas. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes st., Glencoe on Sunday evening from 7-9p.m. and on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Church, Glencoe on Tuesday, March 18 at 10 a.m. Fr. Frank Murphy officiating. Interment at St. Helen's Cemetery, Dunwich Twp. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 219 will conduct a service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation.
