  International Assignments forSoftball Ontario Level IV & Level V Umpires

NORTH YORK, ONTARIO – Softball Ontario is pleased to announce upcoming opportunities for Softball OntarioLevel IV and Level V Umpires to officiate at International caliber games in Southern Ontario! The opportunities, consisting of an Exhibition Seriesfollowed by the Tri-Nations Cup, include:
4     ExhibitionSeries (July 1-4, 2008)

The Exhibition Series will consist of games between the Australian Olympic Team, the Venezuelan Olympic Team, the Canadian Olympic Team, and an All-Star Senior Women’s Team from Ontario.  

Games will takeplace in Brampton on July 1, Oakville on July 2, Milverton on July 3, and Guelph on July 4.

4      Tri-Nations Cup (July 6-8, 2008)

The Tri-Nations Cupwill consist of a tournament featuring three of the top five Softball teams in the world: the Japanese Olympic Team, the Australian Olympic Team and the Canadian Olympic Team.

Games will take place in Kitchener from July6-8, 2008.
“I am thrilled to supply the best Umpires in Canada to officiate at these International Competitionsright in Ontario,”said Peter Kluszczynski, Softball Ontario Fast Pitch ProvincialUmpire-in-Chief. “Itis exciting to offer this International opportunity for Softball OntarioUmpires as the Olympic teams get ready for the 2008 BeijingOlympics”.
Level IVand V Umpires interested in experiencing officiating at the InternationalLevel must submit a letter of intent outlining your Umpire experience at theFast Pitch Senior Level to the Softball Ontario office by Thursday April 4,2008. The number of games and UmpireGame Fees are yet to be determined and will be confirmed uponappointment. As is standard fortournaments of this caliber, travel subsidies and accommodations will not beprovided.
