The Circle Tap fastpitch team kicked off the season at home, competing in
the Classic League. The Tappers came away 4-0 and earned a berth in this
year's ISC World Tournament in Kimberly. Missing this weekend was Chris
Miljavac, Kyle Magnusson, Bryan Hansen, Tim Jorgensen, Paul Algar, and
Juan Pottolucchio. Here are the game recaps

Circle Tap struck in the top of the first as Chris DeLarwelle whacked his
first home run of the year. He also got the opening day nod in the circle
due to Collin McKenzie's flight delay. The Stoneyard evened the score in
the bottom half as Chad Huebner led off with a solo homer. The game
remained 1-1 until the top of the 5th when Kelly Wenstrom hit a solo line
shot. Kyle VanAbel followed with a base hit and scored on a Bill Miller
double to make it 3-1. In the 6th Chris DeLarwelle and Glenn Ormsby drew
walks and would later score on RBI singles by Tom Crouch and Miller. The
Stoneyard tightened the game in the bottom half as Jeff Hauschel drew a
lead off walk, Conrad Bain singled, Dave Mischler grounded out but knocked
in a run, Bret Kadlec doubled in a run, Kyle Leonard walked and Scott
Beyer singled in a run to make it a 5-4 game. The Tappers came back in
the top of the 7th as Kevin Reichardt got hit by a pitch and then Don
Garvey followed with a two run bomb. Kyle Van Abel later singled in Chris
DeLarwelle who had walked.

Game 2

The Tappers grabbed an early lead in this one as Kevin Reichardt drew a
lead off walk and then with one out Chris DeLarwelle slammed a round
tripper. CT tacked on 4 more in the 2nd as Wenstrom walked. With two out
Jamie Knudson picked up an RBI single, followed by a Reichardt base hit
and a Don Garvey 3-run shot to make it 6-0. The Bar answered back in the
bottom of the 2nd as Craig Walsh singled, Nick Peters walked and Jordan
Dahlke singled in a run followed by a sac fly RBI by Ryan Leiterman. CT
added 3 more in the 3rd as Ormsby walked, Tom Crouch singled and Kyle
VanAbel smashed a 3 run homer. CT made it a 10-2 game in the 4th on a
Reichardt solo shot.

This was a good game for the fans to watch. When these two teams clash
the intensity level seems to rise a bit. Circle Tap's Kevin Reichardt
lead of the bottom of the 1st with a solo home run. The game remained 1-0
until the bottom of the 4th when DeLarwelle walked, Tom Crouch and Kelly
Wenstrom singled and Kyle VanAbel delivered a 2 RBI single to make it
3-0. Townline came back in the bottom half as Jim Corbett smashed a
triple and then scored on a ground out by Chris Timm. CT came back in the
top of the 5th as Reichardt walked and scored on a Don Garvey double.

Game 4

This one turned out to be a nicely contested tight game the whole way.
The Bar of Appleton struck first in the top of the first as Chris Delorit
smashed a two out triple and scored on a Bill Huss base hit. The Tappers
evened the score in the bottom half as Reichardt singled, stole 2nd and
scored on a Don Garvey base hit. CT grabbed a 3-1 advantage in the 2nd as
Kyle VanAbel led off with a base hit and with two out Reichardt smashed
his 3rd homer of the weekend. It remained a 3-1 game until the top of the
7th when Jason Rice drew a walk and Chad Mix followed with a base hit. A
passed ball moved both runners up and then another passed ball brought in
a run. A strike out and a couple pop outs ended the threat.

Circle Tap has this week off before traveling to Kimberly for the
Grafmeier Invitational June 6-8. CT kicks off the tourney at 6PM Friday
and then goes 9,1,9 on Saturday.
