Legends of Fastball Classic Adds 5 more to the Ontario Honour Role

The 5th Legends of Fastball Classic, May 30 toJune 1st . will see 5 more Ontariofastball legends honoured in a special ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.This years class includes  3 members of the Waterloo Chym’rs / WaterlooTwins alumni ; a ball park icon as a player and a coach, and the first umpire tobe recognized for his lifetime of contribution to the game.

 
Doug Neil, a Chym’rs pitching ace and instructor for 3decades will join Barry Musselman an all-star first and second for 20 years,and an architect of what became the Waterloo Twins of the 1990’s, andBrian Stere, the Twins power hitting #16 who spent his entire 16 year career inthe Twins uniform.

 
Dan “Motor” Donahue, he of the great moustachein the 3rd base coaching box, is as recognizable in a ball park asany player that ever put on spikes. He was a world class player at first base,and while always a controversy waiting to happen , he could field , hit andtalk the game like nobody else.

 
Bruce Beirman, ISC Umpire In Chief, has a lifetime ofcommitment to officiating and becomes the first umpire honoured for hissignificant contribution to not only the “boys in blue”  butto softball throughout Ontario.

 
The Legends will receive their just recognition in ceremonybeginning at 2:00 p.m., on the sataium diamond at Peter Hallman Ball Yard.

 
Legends games kick off on two diamonds beginning at 7:00p.m. Friday evening, and 25 games later will see the Championship game at 3:00p.m. Sunday afternoon.

 
Tickets, available only at the gate are $5 Friday night, $10all day Saturday or Sunday or $20 for an all weekend pass.
