  SOFTBALLONTAIRO UMPIRE LEVEL IV ON FIELD EVALUATIONOPPORTUNITY
NORTH YORK, ONTARIO- Softball Ontario is pleased to announce the OASA Midget Boys Eliminationstournament on July 11-13, 2008 in Napanee, Ontario as anopportunity for Softball Ontario Umpires who wish to obtain their Level IV OnField Evaluation. The 2008 OASA Midget Boys Eliminationswill be the second time outside of a Softball Canada Canadian Championshipstournament, where eligible Umpires will be able to receive an On FieldEvaluation leading to a recommendation for their Level 4 Softball CanadaUmpire Certification. 

“Iam very excited to be the Umpire-in-Chief of the OASA Midget Boys Eliminationswhere Softball Canada Level IV On Field Evaluations will be conducted onSoftball Ontario Umpires” Steve Bedard, OASA Midget Boys EliminationsUmpire-in-Chief. 

SoftballCanada’s appointed UmpireEvaluator will be Brian Sharples of Pickering, Ontario who is aSoftball Ontario Level V Umpire and member of Softball Canada OfficialsDevelopment Committee. 

The Softball Ontario Fast Pitch Umpires Committee is asking forSoftball Ontario Umpires who meet the criteria listed below and are interestedin this opportunity to submit their letter of intent to the Softball Ontariooffice by June 14, 2008. The letter of intent shouldoutline your Umpire experience at the Fast Pitch Midget Boys Level.

Criteria for Level IV On Field Evaluation at theOASA Midget Boys Eliminations Tournament:

-  Must be a Softball Ontario carded by theMay 30, 2008 Carding Deadline  
-  Must have previously attended a SoftballCanada Level 4 Umpire Clinic
-  Must have an On Field Evaluation of 3A
Please note the Softball Ontario Fast Pitch UmpireCommittee is only able to provide six (6) positions for Softball OntarioUmpires who are seeking the Level IV On Field Evaluation. Travel arrangementsand accommodations will be the responsible of the Umpire wishing to obtaintheir Level IV On Field Evaluation.   Umpires are required to work athree (3) Umpire system and the game fees will be $20.00 per Umpire. If you have any questions regardingthis great opportunity, please contact Stephanie Sutton via email at ssutton@softballontario.ca
