Lots of news from the fastball world this weekend and especially Monday morning.
Rather than getting blocked for "spamming" the world with a dozen e-mail blasts, I am attempting to blog-style today's news into one quick summary and then send it out to our mailing lists.
2008 Legends of Fastball Classic from Kitchener, Ontario
Once again, Larry Lynch and his band of super volunteers from the Kitchener area pulled together an outstanding tournament.
A class act all the way, from the induction of five more legends to the outstanding pie Lucille and the lady's had in the canteen.
Rain was forcast for most of the weekend and even though rain hit hard all around us, very little hit the Peter Hallman Ballyard.
Sunday was a bit cool for the fans but the ball players seemed to enjoy it and the hardy fans who stayed enjoyed some great ball.

Some excellent reports coming in from teams who played in the tournament. This makes for great reading for the fans AND the ISC and ISC II ranking committees.

Horse Lake Thunder Challenge in Grande Prairie, AB
They tried to keep this 4-team mini-tournament a secret from us but our roving reporters are everywhere and we got good reports on the action.
Congratulations to our good friend Darren Zack who went 1 for 1 at the plate and got a single up the middle off of Colin MacKenzie. There is no truth to the rumour that Zee immediately announced his retirement.
A big well done to our fellow Bluenoser Todd McCabe who may have found his true calling with his excellent and timely game reports out of Grande Prairie. Amazing that it takes two Nova Scotians to report on a tournament from Alberta.

And on the weekend, please do not forget one of the best run annual tournaments around, the Annual Snappers Tournament at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Word is that Joe Todd will be making
another appearance.
