The Kitchener softball community has scored another major World class event for Ontario fastball fans. Civitan Sports – Waterloo Region have been successful in attracting Softball Canada’s Tri Nations Cup tournament to Kitchener July 6 – 8th . The three teams competing are ranked in the top five of women’s teams in the world.
Civitan Sports president Pete McILwraith has put together an organizing committee comprised of softball people and sport enthusiasts with the experience to ensure a successful softball experience for all ages. That Committee consists of Dave McLelland, Ray Alviano, Sue Sherry, Larry Lynch, Donna Heer and himself.
The “Kitchener Pioneer Lions” Road to Beijing Tri Nation Cup will be played at Peter Hallman Ball Yard with the National Senior Women’s teams of Canada, Australia and Japan all on their way to the Beijing games in August. For the best in women’s softball mark it on your calendars
The Kitchener committee have expanded the KW boundary to include all Ontario with a desire to make it a Provincial event. They have invited local companies, businesses and organizations to get involved, but extend an invitation for Provincial or National companies to support the project.
