 The #14 rankedMinnDak Millers opened the 2008 season by traveling to Kimberly, Wisconsin forthe Jack Grafmeier Memorial Tournament.

 The Millersfinished the weekend 2-1 after rain washed out the completion of thetournament.

 MinnDak waswithout JohnTschida, Ward Gosse, Rick Lang and Lamar Noriega on the weekend.

 The Millersopened up the 2008 campaign more shorthanded than expected.   Roman Foore had a coaching commitment thatforced him to miss the game and Tim Macumber's connecting flight from Chicagowas cancelled due to weather, forcing him to drive.

 The Millersjumped on the board early, scoring 3 runs in the first.
 With one out,Gregg Cascaes tripled then scored on a passed ball. Daryn Miller walked then stole second.
 Two batterslater, Bruno Motroni tripled to score Miller. Motroni would then score on a passed ball.
 In the third,Cascaes led off with a single, advanced to second on a passed ball, moved tothird as Miller reached on an error.
 A passed ballscored Cascaes. Motroni followed with awalk, which was followed by a Jason Wandler single that scored Miller andMotroni.
 Tim Tweiten thensingled to score Wandler, who advanced to second on a wild pitch, giving theMillers four runs in the bottom of the fourth and a 7-0 lead.
 Gerald Muizelaarled the way with a complete-game no-hitter.

 This game wasscoreless until a third inning solo homer by Bruno Motroni put MinnDak up 1-0.
 The Stoneyardcountered the next inning on a solo homer by James Darby.
 The bottom of thefourth saw Jason Wandler with a leadoff double and advanced to third on a flyball by Tommy Thompson.
 Wandler thenscored on a sacrifice fly by Lucas Goring to put MinnDak up 2-1.
 Thompson led offthe sixth with walk, advanced to third on ground outs by Lucas Goring and GreggCascaes.
 Motroni walkedand Tim Macumber's single scored Thompson.
 After Roman Fooreand Daryn Miller walked, the Millers pushed two more runs across on a TonyKunka single.
 A Wandler singlescored Miller to close out the MinnDak scoring.

 The Millers werehanded their first loss of the season in this contest.
 With one out inthe Stampede half of the third, Drew Mettille singled on a pitch that hitTravis Price in the leg. Price wouldstay in the game.
 A Stampedesacrifice and an error on the play moved the runners to second and third.
 Another MinnDakerror scored resulted in a 1-0 Stampede lead.
 A wild pitch anda single by Tom Owen put the Stampede up 3-0.
 MinnDak counteredin the fourth when Tim Macumber led off the inning with a home run.
 The Stampedemanufactured a run in the bottom of the fourth on a lead off walk, a sacrifice,a passed ball and a sacrifice fly.
 Lucas Goring ledof the top of the seventh with by reaching on a two-base error then advancingto third on a wild pitch.
 Gregg Cascaes'sacrifice fly to centerfield scored Goring to the cut the lead in half.
 With two outs,Tim Macumber singled but that was all the further the MinnDak rally would get.
 

 The Millers werethen scheduled to take on #7 Circle Tap (Denmark, Wisc) on Saturday at 9pm,with the winner advancing to Sunday's semifinals, and a date with the topranked Farm Tavern (Madison, Wisc).
 The rain, thunderand lightning started shortly after the game with Stampede concluded and theteams planned on playing at 9am Sunday morning.
 The rain beganSunday morning before the teams could even take the field and the forecastcalled for rain all day and the tournament was called.
 The Millers wouldlike to extend a thank you to Gerald Muizelaar for throwing with us thisweekend.
 MinnDak is offthis coming weekend and will travel to the Eau Claire Classic next weekend.
