The Grey Sox downed the Kiwis by scores of 4-1 and 8-1. Results from the games are listed below. The Vancouver Grey Sox kick off a 5 game weekend series vs the New Zealand and Canada Under 19 Mens National teams tonite (Friday June 13). The Grey Sox will make the short commute to New Westminster on Friday evening and face the New Zealanders in a doubleheader starting at 6:45 p.m. at Moody Park (8th Avenue and 8th street). The Grey Sox will welcome the return of Pitcher Nick Underhill who will be back in the line up after missing recent action due to work commitments.
On Saturday June 14th the Grey Sox will play Team Canada twice at South Memorial Park (41st Avenue East between Knight and Fraser Streets) in Vancouver. Game times are 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. At the request of Team Canada the Sunday June 15th schedule has been changed to a single game at 11:00 a.m. rather than a doubleheader. Following that game the South Hill Sports Association and the Grey Sox will host an on-field session with young ballplayers from the Cloverdale Minor Softball Association, followed by a barbeque. There will not be any admission charges and fans are invited to attend and check out some of Canada's and New Zealand's best young players as they prepare for the ISF Junior Mens World Championship slated to commence next week in Whitehorse, Yukon.
