NY Knights Midland recap

The NY Knights won the 2008 Boulevard Lounge ISC II qualifier in Midland, MI this past weekend going 6-0 and improving their overall season record to 13-2-1. The Knights were lead by the pitching of Bill Hillhouse and Dan Duemo and were without pitcher Craig Pidcock. John Rozich had 3 HR & 9 RBI and Steve Platt was 8-16 with 2 HR to lead the Knights offense.

Knights – John Rozich hit 2 HR and drove in 5. Dave Simon had a 2 run HR, Steve Platt was 3 – 3 and John Heinsch had 2 doubles for the Knights.

Knights – Dan Duemo was dominating in the circle throwing a no hitter and striking out 10. He just missed a perfect game with a walk in the 6th being his only blemish. Dave Simon & Chad Busch lead the Knights offense with 2 hits each.

Knights – John Rozich was 4-4 with 2 doubles, HR and 4 RBI. George McConnell was 3-3 with 2 RBI.
Scary moment when Knights starter Dan Duemo was struck in the head by a line drive. Dan was removed from the game and kept out of the playoffs as a precaution but suffered only a bruise and was treated by Midland staff at the field.

Knights- Bill Hillhouse threw a no hit shut out to lead the Knights over Duncan in the first elimination game. Dave Simon, John Heinsch, Ed Jackson and George McConnell had 2 hits for the Knights.

Knights – Bill Hillhouse went the distance in the final throwing a 1 hit shutout. The Knights needed him to be that good as they could only manage 1 run in the 5th off a tiring Mark Whitman who was throwing his 3rd straight game for Kelders. Chad Busch had 2 hits for the Knights and drove in the games only run with 2 outs in the 5th.
 
The Knights will be back in action this weekend in Lancaster, PA for the Mid Atlantic Travel league.
