The Bar- Green Bay @ Eau Claire Classic

The Bar of Green Bay traveled to Eau Claire this past weekend to participate in the Eau Claire Classic where we finished the weekend with a 3-2 record.. We would like to thank Chad Seeman, John Brandon, Juan Potolicchio and Cade Freeman for joining us for the tournament this weekend.
#8 Midwest Stampede 4 #22 Bar-GB 1
Midwest got on the score board early with Tyson Byrne leading of with a walk then moving to third on 2 stolen bases. Stacy McClain would score him on a groundout to the secondbaseman. Midwest would then score 1 in the third on a solo homerun by Tom Owen. In the fourth, Brian Lamers would lead off with a single, move to 2nd on a passed ball and score on an error by the first baseman on Chris Bohlmann ground ball. The Stampede would cap off their scoring in the 5th with a solo shot from McClain. The Bar would get on the scoreboard in the 6th with Justin Colombo getting hit by a Reagan Manley pitch to lead off. He would advance to 2nd on a passed ball and score on a Josh Johnson double. Jared Johnson would single only to have brother Josh thrown out at the plate to end the sixth.

#21 Bar-GB 7 Thomson Area Merchants 6
The Bar began the scoring in the 2nd inning tallying three off pitcher Chris Nash. Craig Gorst would get the ball rolling with a one out single and move to second when Justin Colombo would draw a 2 out walk. Lead off hitter, Josh Johnson would step to the plate and deliver a 2 out 3-run shot over the center field fence to put us up 3-0.. Jared Johnson would then lead off the 3rd inning with 1st pitch solo homerun. That would be followed by a Chad Seeman double. Craig Gorst would draw a 2 out walk, followed by a walk by Jordan Dahlke to load the bases. Justin Colombo would receive the third consecutive walk to score Seeman. The scoring in the third would end with Gorst crossing the plate on a Josh Johnson walk. Thomson would get on the board in the third with a lead off single by BJ Gulick and move to third on a Scott Glazier single. Gulick would score on a George Jimenez ground ball that would result in a double play. The Bar tacked on their 7th and final run of the game on a one out solo homerun by Chad Seeman.
In the 5th, Thomson would start a bit of a rally. Kevin Anderson would reach on an error by the first baseman and score on a Gulick 2-run homerun to make the score 7-3. Thomson would add another run in the 6th with a lead off single by Jayson White, he would move to second on a Anderson single and score on a Glazier single. Thomson would make a run in the bottom half of the 7th. Down 7-4, Doc Brown would hit a one out single and score on a White 2-run homerun that would knock pitcher Josh Johnson out of the game. Juan Potolicchio would come in to record the final two outs of the game with a 7-6 victory for The Bar.

#1 The Farm 6 #21 The Bar-GB 2
With a four way tie at 1-1 in our pool, we ended up with the fourth seed and a draw of World number 1 The Farm. The Bar would come out of the gates on fire. Lead off hitter Josh Johnson would lead off the game with a double which was followed up by a 2-run blast over the left field fence by Chad Seeman. The Farm would answer in the first with a solo homerun by Donnie Hale and again in the second with a solo shot by Jeff Goolagong. The score would remained tied until the bottom of the 5th. Chris Timm would lead off with a solo home run followed by a double by Kevin Schellenberg and a single by Paul Rosebush that would score Schellenberg who had stolen third. Rosebush would move over on a sacrifice by Jason Hill, the steal third. Rosebush would score on an error by the firstbaseman on a Donnie Hale ground ball. Hale would move to 2nd on a passed ball and score on a Colin Abbott 1-out double. That is how the game would end with The Farm prevailing 6-2.

#21 The Bar-GB 16 Stoneyard 3
Yet another matchup between these two familiar foes in the first game of the consolation bracket. The Bar would open by putting a 9 spot up in the top of the 1st inning off of Stoneyard pitcher James Darby. Josh Johnson would lead off with a single followed by consecutive singles by Chad Seeman and Jared Johnson. Brad Mcartney would deliver grand slam homerun with a shot over the centerfield fence. Craig Gorst would start it over with a single and would move to third on a error by the left fielder on a Nick Peters fly ball. Gorst would score on a Ric Thompson fly ball. Justin Colombo would draw a walk and lead off hitter would deliver a 3-run homerun in his second turn at bat in the inning. Chad Seeman would draw a walk and move to second on a passed ball. He would score on a Jared Johnson double. Stoneyard would answer with two in the bottom half of the first. Conrad Bain would single followed by a Gerard Long walk. Bain would steal third and score on a Darby single. Long would end up scoring on a Dave Mischler fielders choice that would get the runner out going to second. The Bar would start the second with a leadoff walk to Gorst. Peters could reach first on a fielder's choice. Thompson would then follow that up with a 2-run shot over the centerfield fence. Three consecutive walks to Colombo, Dahlke and Josh Johnson would load the bases. Seeman would reach on a ground with the shortstop going to home with the ball. Jared Johnson would single scoring Dahlke and Josh Johnson. Brad Mcartney would finish off the scoring with a 3-run homer, his second of the game. The last of the scoring would be done by the Stoneyard with a Conrad Bain solo homerun.

#21 The Bar-GB 5 Thomson Area Merchants 4
In a rematch of a pool play game, these two teams would face off in the consolation championship. Josh Johnson would lead off the game with a double, move to third on a Seeman groundball and score on a Jared Johnson fly ball to right. Jayson White would lead off the bottom of the first with walk. Scott Glazier would reach on a fielder's choice, move to second on an error by the first baseman on a BJ Gulick groundball. Glazier would score on two passed balls. The game was pretty quiet until the ominous 5th inning, which seems to be the most troublesome inning for The Bar. In the bottom of the inning, Scott Beal would hit a one out single followed by a George Jimenez single. With 2 outs, Jayson White ripped a 3-run homerun to put the Merchants up 4-1. The Bar would answer with one in the 6th. Chad Seeman would lead off with a single move to second on Jared Johnson walk. Seeman would score on a Nick Peters single and Johnson would get thrown out at the plate. In the top of the seven, The Bar mounted a comeback. Back to back singles by Dahlke and Colombo would have two runners on for lead off hitter Josh Johnson. Johnson would put the second pitch over the right field fence to put The Bar ahead to stay, 5-4.
