USA Junior Men Fall 4-2 in opening game of World Championships

WHITE HORSE, Yukon - The USA Softball Jr. Men's team fell 4-2 to Japan in the opening game of the 8th ISF Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Championships in White Horse, Yukon, Canada. The team will next face Denmark at 1:30 local time/3:30 CT as they look to even their record at 1-1.

Japan jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first but the United States evened it up in the bottom of the first. The team remained tied in the second but Japan took the lead in the third inning for a 2-1 lead and would take the lead to 3-1 in the fifth. The USA cut the lead to 3-2 in the fifth but a run by Japan in the top of the sixth put the game out of reach and gave Japan the 4-2 win.

The team connected on three hits while the pitching staff allowed eight. Two errors by the U.S. defense and one by Japan wrap up the line score.
