Game 1
Chepstow Aces...........1..4..1..0..0..0..2.......8
Volkswagen Selects....0..0..0..0..0..0..1.......1

In the top of the first, second baseman Rory O'Hagen walked, advanced to score on a single and a fielder's choice giving Chepstow a 1-0.

In the 2nd, Chepstow scored 4 times, highlighted by a very weird three run homer by Jay Zister.
Zister belted the ball to deep right center and it landed on the top of the outfield fence and bounced straight up.
Volkswagen centerfielder Tyler Baumber hustled to retrieve the ball which was airborne, and tried to barehand it. The ball struck Baumber's throwing hand and bounced over the fence for a 3 run homer.

Chepstow went up 6-0 in the third when Jay Strauss struck out, but got to first on the passed third strike. He would come around to score on 2 Owen Sound errors which typified the night for the Selects.

Mike Walter singled in the 7th and after hits by O'Hagen & Calvin Amsted, the Aces grabbed an 8-0 lead.

The lone run for the Brick Brothers Volkswagen came in the bottom of the 7th when Lucas Lind, singled, was advanced to third and scored on a passed ball

Darcy Cook got the win for Chepstow and was resilient as he managed to strand 9 Selects base runners.

Nolan Kreis started for Volkswagen but left in the third inning after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
David Juniper went the remainder of the way and gave up 4 hits.

Game 2
Aces..2..2..0..0..0..5..0......9
VW....1..0..1..0..0..1..0......3

Chepstow grabbed a quick 2-0 lead as Rory O'Hagen had his first of three hits on the night and scored on a Jay Zister double.
Zister made it 2-0 when he scored on Greg Graul's double.

The Volkswagen Selects cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the first when Matt Kuhl walked and scored on an rbu from first baseman Chris Fyvie

Chepstow scored two more in the 2nd. With 2 out, Calvin Amsted, O'Hagen ( again ) and Jared Clancy had back to back hits and were aided by two more Selects errors.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Owen Sound again cut the lead in half. Shortstop Greg Wardell singled, stole second & scored on Kuhl's single.

In the 6th, Chepstow blew the game wide open with 5 runs.

T.J. Zister, Clancy & Graul with a two run triple had the big blows, again aided by some poor fielding on Owen Sound's part.
The Selects avoided a " mercy " loss, when Brent Thompson belted a triple in the bottom of the 6th and scored on a wild pitch to close out the scoring.

Jamie Elder, a call up for Chepstow to replace the injured Dustin Veenhof ( broken jaw ) went all the way for the Aces.
Elder normally pitches for the Owen Sound Midget Selects.

David Juniper went all the way for Volkswagen, giving up 13 hits in the game, 6 of which were in the 6th inning.

Saturday & Sunday, the Volkswagen Junior Selects will host the Niagara Snappers in ISC play.
The doubleheader Saturday starts at 3 pm and the doubleheader Sunday starts at 10 am at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound
