Niagara Snappers Get Win & Tie @ Owen Sound
 
After splitting a doubleheader on Saturday at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound, the Niagara Snappers got a win and a tie against the Owen Sound Volkswagen Junior Selects on Sunday July 13th.

The Snappers used last inning heroics in both cases to win and gain the tie..

In the top of the second, Stefan Walma laced a double for Owen Sound, advanced on an error and scored on a mental error by Niagara to open the scoring.
The Selects would follow by loading the bases and would add another run off an error for a 2-0 lead.
 
In the bottom of the second, Scott Young slammed a solo home run to left field to get the Snappers on the board.
 
Owen Sound scored again in the third inning. Rightfielder Aaron Fraser tripled and scored on an rbi single from Walma.
 
There was no scoring until the bottom of the 7th when Niagara would stage a rally.
 
Pat McCloy singled for the Snappers and after a strikeout, Selects starter Andrew Scott plunked the next two hitters to load the bases.
 
Shortstop Trevor Falk would tie the game with a 2 run single.
 
Then Young would get his second rbi of the day with a solid single to give the Snappers a 4-3 victory.
 
Byron Demoe got the win for Niagara, giving up 8 hits.
 
Andrew Scott took the loss for Owen Sound. He gave up 8 hits and he struck out 7.

Once again the Volkswagen Selects opened the scoring.
 
In the top of the third inning, third baseman Matt Kuhl bunted his way aboard.
Kuhl stole second and moved to third base on a single by Darcy Cook.
Kuhl & Cook worked a half steal to perfection to make it 1-0 Owen Sound.
Cook made it 2-0 when he scored on an error by the Snappers
 
In the bottom of the 4th, designated player Jarrod Burt blasted a triple and scored on an rbi single by shortstop Trevor Falk, his third rbi of the day.
 
Falk had one more rbi left.
 
In the bottom of the 7th inning, Falk launched a no-doubt-about-it solo home run to right-center to tie the game.
 
Jamie Simpson went all the way for Niagara giving up 3 hits and striking out 8
 
For Owen Sound, David Juniper gave up 4 hits and struck out 3
 
The Selects will be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Belmore to face the Stingers.
