The Peninsula Merchants return to Francis Asbury Park this weekend to take on the D.C. Trojans in a fast-pitch softball doubleheader Saturday night starting at 7 pm. This is the first home appearance for the Merchants since winning the Virginia Classic on June 7-8 and the final home appearance of the 2008 season.
D.C. Trojans are a young, up and coming team that plays in the weekday Suburban DC Metro league and the Sunday DC Fastpitch league. This will be the first meeting between the Trojans and the Merchants.
Peninsula (6-5-2) returns after a 0-3 weekend in the Mid Atlantic Fastpitch Travel League and will play again July 25 in the final MAFTL League weekend in Pennsylvania.
