The Circle Tap Fastpitch team made loads of progress this week in going
5-1(9-6 overall) and earning a 2nd place finish at the Grafmeier
Invitational in Kimberly, WI. Weather was gorgeous in the mid 80's all
weekend. Our bats finally came alive on Friday and Saturday and we got
outstanding pitching performances from all three pitchers. Thanks to Brad
Dvorachek for filling in behind the plate this weekend. Results

The Tappers came out hitting in the top of the 1st and scored 4 times.
Jess Ellestad led off with a base hit moved to 2nd on a passed ball and
scored on a base hit by Tom Crouch. Chris Delarwelle followed with an RBI
single, with one out Kyle Magnusson picked up an RBI single and with two
out Kevin Reichardt hit an RBI single. In the 2nd CT tacked on two more
as Ellestad led off with a walk, Crouch reached on an error, Delarwelle
knocked in one with a base hit followed by a sac fly RBI by Don Garvey.
CT added 3 more in the 3rd as Reichardt led off with a base hit and scored
as Darren Derricks reached on an error, Ellestad walked and Crouch
followed with a base hit bringing home two. Ellestad, Crouch, Delarwelle
and Reichardt each had two hits.

Everything kind of came together in this game, we hit very well and Matt
Bramwell threw a perfect game. CT grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a solo
home run by Kevin Reichardt. The Tappers added a run in the 3rd as Jess
Ellestad led off with a base hit and was knocked in on a Don Garvey base
hit. Ellestad hit a solo shot in the 4th. In the 5th Don Garvey and Kyle
Magnusson singled, with one out Reichardt walked, Brad Dvorachek picked up
an RBI single and Darren Derricks followed with a 2RBI base hit.

CT struck first in the bottom of the 1st as Jess Ellestad led off with a
walk Tom Crouch singled and Chris Delarwelle followed with a sac fly RBI.
Kegel evened the score as Rob Geisbrecht walked and scored on a Nathan
Geisbrecht base hit. In the bottom half Kevin Reichardt hit a solo shot
to make it a 2-1 game. CT made it a 3-1 game as Ellestad led off the 3rd
with a double, was sacrificed to 3rd and scored on a wild pitch. Kegel
came back with a run in the top of the 5th as Jeff Ellsworth hit an RBI
double. CT came back with a pair of runs in the bottom half as Ellestad
walked and scored on a Tom Crouch double, Don Garvey also picked up an RBI
double. CT would add another run in the bottom of the 6th as Darren
Derricks walked and would eventually score on a sac fly by Chris
Delarwelle.

The Tappers hit the ball very well in this one against a familiar face in
Dewey Dyck, however only cashed in 2 runs as we stranded 9 runners. We
got another great pitching performance from veteran Mike Roberts. CT
grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the 1st as Kyle Magnusson singled and scored
on a Chris Delarwelle double. The game would remain that way until the
6th when Tom Crouch hit a two out triple and scored on a Jamie Knudson
base hit

This was an old-school pitcher's duel. CT got a run in the first with two
out as Chris Delarwelle smashed a bomb into the river. Other than that
Rob Schweyer was lights out for MinnDak the rest of the way. The Millers
stranded runners in every inning but the 6th. Collin McKenzie got the outs
when we needed them to secure the win.

Game 6 Sunday 2PM Finals

The usually sure handed CT defense let up a couple unearned runs which
turned out to be the difference in this one. The Farm struck in the 1st
as Rob Gray drew a two out walk, Colin Abbot singled but a throwing error
allowed Gray to come all the way around and score. The Farm made it a 2-0
game in the 3rd as Gray reached on an error Colin Abbot reached on a
fielder's choice, Todd Budke singled and Daryl Joy hit an RBI single.
Farm tacked on a couple more in the 6th as Dan Smet singled and scored as
Harvey Stevenson reached on an error and later scored on a Keith McIntosh
base hit. The CT offense came alive a bit in the 7th as Kyle Magnusson
drew a one out walk and Todd Malnory hit one into the bleachers in left
center to make it a 4-2 game. After a strike out, Darren Derricks singled
but was stranded as WP Dean Holoien struck out another batter.

Circle Tap's next action will be June 9-10 at Circle Tap for the WI Area
Tournament. CT plays at 7:45 and 9:30 Friday night against Townline and
The Farm and will play one game on Saturday. All 3 teams have earned
berths to the ISC World Tournament. Should be strong games all weekend.
