The Circle Tap Fastpitch team went 3-2(16-9 overall) this past weekend en
route to a 5th place finish in the 18 team event. This marks the first of
the 3 big end of the year tournaments in Wisconsin. Weather was nice and
competition was good. 8AM on sunday is a bit ridiculous though.
Missing this weekend were Chris Miljavac, Glenn Ormsby, and Darren Derricks.

The Tappers opened the tournament scoring 5 runs in the first. Kevin
Reichardt led off with a double, Kyle Magnusson singled, Chris DeLarwelle
picked up a 2RBI base hit, Don Garvey smashed a two run shot. Jamie
Knudson would later drive in a run as he reached on an error. Reichardt
had an RBI double in the 3rd and Tim Jorgensen drove in a run on an error
in the 4th.

This was the first meeting of these two squads this year. A very familiar
foe in SoCal pitcher Lucas Mata though as he spent a few years here in WI.
CT got on the board first as Tim Jorgensen hit a solo shot in the 2nd. In
the top of the 4th Robbie O'Brien led off the SoCal half with a base hit
and with 2 out and an 0-2 count, Joe Morales knocked one out down the left
field line to give the Bombers a 2-1 edge. CT left a pair of runners on
in the 5th and 7th.

Circle Tap took a first inning lead in this one as Kyle Magnusson picked
up a base hit and scored on a Don Garvey base hit. The Tappers put up a 7
spot in the 2nd as Tom Crouch led off with a base hit, Kelly Wenstrom
singled, Kyle VanAbel hit a two run triple, Jamie Knudson walked,
Reichardt walked, Magnusson was hit by a pitch and then Chris DeLarwelle
lauched a grand slam. Van Abel and Tim Jorgensen later hit solo home runs.

This is the 3rd meeting between these two squads this year, CT sweeping
all tight ball games. In the bottom of the first, Reichardt drew a lead
off walk, Kyle Magnusson reached on a fielder's choice which also allowed
Reichardt safe at 3rd and with two out Tim Jorgensen smashed one down the
right field line for a 3-0 advantage. In the Townline 3rd John Zipperer
singled and scored on a Fernando Petric double. CT answered in the bottom
of the 4th as Kelly Wenstrom and Bryan Hansen hit back to back doubles
making it 4-1. Nick Shailes hit a solo shot for Townline in the 6th.

The Tappers didn't come to play in this one. CT did take an early lead in
the top of the 2nd as Tim Jorgensen walked and later scored on a Tom
Crouch ground out. MinnDak exploded for 7 in the 2nd off of CT starter
Potolicchio. Tony Kunka led off the inning by getting hit, with one out
Daryn Miller was hit by a pitch, Jason Wandler hit an RBI single, Tschida
picked up a base hit and Lucas Goring smashed a grand slam. Gregg Cascaes
singled and went to 2nd on an error and Bruno Matroni then smashed a two
run shot. CT cut it to 7-3 in the 5th as Bryan Hansen doubled, Reichardt
and Magnusson walked. Chris DeLarwelle hit an RBI sac fly and Don Garvey
followed with an RBI base hit. Tim Macumber hit an RBI base hit for
MinnDak in the 6th.

The Tappers now travel to Stevens Point for the ASA National Championship.
