N.S. returns after three year hiatus from Midget Nats

Six East Hants players are among the 15 representing the province as Team Nova Scotia makes it's first appearance in three years at the 11-team Canadian Midget Boys fast pitch nationals in Brantford, Ont., this week Aug 3-10).
The last time they attended one, they came away with a silver medal at the 2005 event in Miramichi, N.B.
Nova Scotia is attending and using the tournament as a warmup for the North American Cup in 2009, set for Charlottetown, P.E.I. featuring teams from across Canada, the U.S.A. and Mexico.
Belnan's Kody Blois, who continues his evry hectic summer of softball piped in between training for his QMJHL and MJAHL training for the Mooseheads and Truro Bearcats, Matt Anthony of Shubenacadie, Lantz product Darcy Gillis, Curtis Broussard of Mount Uniacke, Tyler Coldwell of Gays River and Musquodobit Harbour native Travis Cavenaugh.
Jeff Fraser of Nine Mile River is the team's head coach.
The East Hants members were very appreciative of the support shown them by Tim Isenor- Century 21, Elmsdale Landscaping, McNeil's Shell, Caldwell Roach Insurance, Laurie Isenor and Son's Enfield Rentals, John MacDonell MLA, Davies Plumbing, Carl Anthony Trucking, Shane's Service Center in Shubenacadie, Horne's Roofing and the Links At Penn Hills.
"Without these generous sponsors, making this trip would be almost impossible," Blois said. "We're very thrilled to have these businesses on board and hope to make them proud by bringing home a medal."
The squad includes two members of the recently silver-medal Canadian Jr Men's team, Pat Avery of Larry's River and Aaron Long of Guysborough.
Other team members who will compete against the other top 10 in the country include Justin Schofield of White Rock, Joe Chisholm of Heatherton, Ryan Gillis of Sherbrooke, Arisaig product Trent MacDonald, Tyler Whynot of Windsor, Guysborough's Rene D'entrement and Andy MacIsaac of St. Mary's.
