LEARN TO PLAY WITH SOFTBALL ONTARIO AND THE CANADIAN WOMEN’S NATIONAL SOFTBALL TEAM!

KITCHENER, ONTARIO — Softball Ontario is excited to announce a once in a lifetime opportunity for children ages 4 to 8 years old to learn from Canada’s best softball players.  Along with the Canadian Women’s National Softball Team, the Kitchener Minor Girls Softball Association, and the Guelph Girls Softball Association, Softball Ontario will be holding a Learn to Play clinic coached by the Canadian National Team.

Held at Peter Hallman Ball Yard on June 17, 2006, this FREE clinic gives children ages 4 to 8 years old the opportunity to try softball for the first time, learn from our country’s best players, and improve their existing softball skills.

Participants will receive free T-Shirts along with other goodies provided by Softball Ontario.  Registration and warm-up games begin at 12:00 PM; the Learn to Play clinic will start at 1:15 PM.  The participants will rotate through the various Learn to Play stations manned by National Team players, giving the children the opportunity to meet and learn softball skills from each of the women on our National Softball Team.  Registration is limited to the first 100 participants; contact Lisa Crompton at lcrompton@softballontario.ca or (416) 426-7150 to register.  Registration forms are available online at www.softballontario.ca.

Additional opportunities to meet the National Team are available at an Autograph session scheduled after the clinic.
The Learn to Play clinic is held in conjunction with the Team Canada 2006 Ontario Pro Tour held June 15 – 25, 2006 in Kitchener, with additional games in Brampton, Guelph and Milverton.  For further details and ticket information, contact Pete McIlwraith at dfm70(at)hotmail.com or (519) 894-5315.  Fax ticket orders to (519) 894-9516.
