Hello fastpitch world. The smoke has finally cleared from what was an
obscenely tough ending for the Tappers at this year's world tournament.
First and foremost I want to thank our outstanding sponsor, Darren
Derricks, who just completed his 14th season of sponsoring a major level
team. Without him, CT Fastpitch would not exist, and a lot of us would
find ourselves a bit confused as to what to do on a summer weekend. We do
have a few other sponsors, and you know who you are, and I wish to thank
you as well on behalf of the team.

As far as the season goes we were 24-13. A very low amount of total games
due to one tournament not getting finished because of rain and another not
even starting because of rain. Opening weekend we took home another
Classic League title, I believe that makes it 7 out of the last 8 years.
We won a 2nd straight Townline Shootout. After that the season became a
bit turbulent going 1-3 in Monkton and getting bounced by Aspen after
taking a 4-1 lead into the 5th. A disappointing 2-2 mark at the Boys of
Summer. We placed 5th(3-2) at NAFA and 5th(5-2) at ASA where we finally
saw some signs of life on the offensive side. Then off to the world
tournament where we went 3-2. After winning our first game, we were
leading in the 2nd round 5-1 vs Vancouver and it fell apart and lost 6-5.
Everything that could go wrong did and we never fully recovered and were
bounced a couple of games later to local rival Townline which cause many
sleepless nights for us all. Unofficially I think we hit .330 for the
tournament and placed 3 players on the All-World Team (Glenn Ormsby-2nd
Team), Chris DeLarwelle-1st Team, and Chris Miljavac-1st team and ISC
leading hitter.

Despite our rough finish, I believe this team is a lot better than the
ending. We had a lot of fun and the team is made up of an outstanding
bunch of guys. We all got along and it was enjoyable season even though
we didn't reach any of our on-field goals.

Finally, I want to congradulate Denny Bruckert and his Kitchener team on
winning the title. They have an outstanding ball club and proved it last
weekend.

I urge you not to take anything on the jrdiamondbacks page to be truthful.
CT news will always be released here, a reliable medium for fastpitch
news. When anything newsworthy happens it will be posted here. Don't
read any more into that statement than what it says.

Have a good off season
