GARSON HOUNDS WILL FACE THE DOG HOUSE NORTH STARS IN THE FINALS
In the fourth game of the Semi Finals series "B" between the Pickerel River Cardinals and the Garson Hounds , the Hounds bats hit early and hung on for a 10-6 victory and the series win 3 games to 1 . Gary Lamothe (2-1) went all the way for the victory while Alex Ashawasagai (0-1) suffered the defeat.
The Hounds will now face the North Stars in the league championship best of five final. During the regular season the teams split their three meetings with Dog House winning 6-2 ;Garson winning 9-4 while the third match finished in a 6 all draw. Once again I'm giving my prediction in this the final series of the 2008 season . The Dog House North Stars will be going after their second strait championship and their third in four years.Defensively both teams match up pretty equally both having strong arms in the outfield and stingy defenses when they want to. On the Hounds squad you have to watch out for John Treen , Todd Parsons (league leading RBI man during the regular season) and especially Corey "Pooch" Farmer league leading hitter at 773 during the regular season. One can never count out the veteran North Stars which their offensive duo of Pitou Paquette and Joel Belanger. Joel just came off a great Northern Ontario Championship hitting a sizzling 813 with 5 round trippers. Both teams have some good pitching but the edge has to go to the Hounds with their duo of Gary Lamothe and Micky Chartrand while the North Stars will have to depend on their only pitcher Randy Dennis. Prediction here is the North Stars in 5 to capture their second strait league championship.

Game 1 Monday August the 25th in Azilda at the Rick McDonald Memorial Park 8 PM
Game 2 Thursday August the 28th in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park 8 PM
* No games on Monday September the 1st because its Labor Day
Game 3 Thursday September the 4th in Garson 8 PM
Game 4 (if necessary ) Monday September the 8th in Azilda 8PM
Game 5 (if necessary) Thursday September the 11th in Garson 8 PM
Do not forget that the third annual All-Star Classic pitting the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League All-Stars and the North Shore/F.A.N.S. goes Saturday September the 13th in Elliot Lake at 7:30 PM-it will be preceded by four sets of competitions at 7 PM. All team reps are asked to give me 4 to 5 names from their team for this all star extravaganza .The t-shirts will be supplied to us North Shore Organizers.For that game you will asked to bring your team sweater.
