All Ontario Native Fastball Championship;Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League Finals

 CURVE LAKE   AND BEAR ISLAND WIN THE ALL ONTARIO ANISHNAABEK(NATIVE) FASTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
 
                                                                       Some  30 games later and after rain delays and a late night Sunday , finally the two champions for the tournament were declared. Games got underway Friday afternoon on three  fronts .
                                                                        Here are all the scores from the Old Timers division: Bear Island 14 Whitefish Lake Falcons 3;Wiky Wild Dogs 8 Sagamok 5;Sagamok 10 Whitefish Falcons 3;Bear Island 4 Wiki 0;Sagamok 5 Wiki 4;Sagamok 7 Bear Island 5 ;double knockout therefore Bear Island and Sagamok face each other once more but this time Bear Island cruches Sagamok 17-2 and the game is called after three because of the 15 run mercy rule- Bear Island  2008  Old Timers division champions

                                                           THE NORTH STARS TAKE GAME ONE OF THE FINALS
 
                                                                                     The Dog House North Stsars set the tone early in this first game of the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League championship final best of five affair. The first three batters of the Garson Hounds went out in quick fashion before the North Stars went to bat. Noreth Stars first two batters went out then catcher Gilles Larocque hit a single followed by Pitou Paquette's two run blast to left field to give Dog House a 2-0 lead.The Garson Hounds replied in the top of the third frame with two hits and a fielding error to notched the game at 2-2 ..Immediately the strong bats of Dog House replied scoring 5 runs on 6 hits to take a commending 7-2 lead. Garson scored two more runs in the final 4 frames while the North Stars had 1 to win going away 9-4 and take a1-0 lead in the`series.  Pitou Paquette led the way for the winners with a 2 for 3 performance at bat (2 run homer) with teamate Jean Gilles Larocque hitting 3 for 4(double) while Corey "Pooch" Farmer hit 2 for 3(triple) in a losing cause for the Hounds . Randy Dennis (4-0) went all the`way for the winners  scattering 10 hits and striking out  4 Garson hiters . Micky Chartrand (1-2) was the starter for the Hounds  and gave way to Gary "Guinou" Lamothe in the 5th frame -bopth pitchers combined to give up  11 hits and fanning 7 North Stars
