After winning our opening game against Radotin (CZ) 12-0, Decos EHS beat Beveren Lions 8-0 on Tuesday but suffered its first loss against the host team Havlickuv Brod 6-4

 

In that second game of the day, Decos EHS' pitcher Jared Welsh started with a walk to Czech National Team player Petr Vacha who scored on a hit by Jiri Brabec followed by a 2 run homerun by Karel Kadecka in the first inning. The 2 run homerun by Petr Vacha in the second inning forced Decos EHS to bring in Seba Gervasutti (ARG and team Rainey).

 

Decos EHS came back to 5-4 in the third inning with runs from Anthony Beaumont, Michel Groenhart, Etienne Meijer and Rody Stam on 2 hits inclduing a triple from Meijer.

 

After that the Czech's brought in their nr 1 pitcher Jaroslav Muller who closed the game with 12 k's.

 

Decos EHS won both games on Wednesday with 13-1 and 18-0 against Croatia and France.

 

Today is the big day with games against Horsholm (Denmark) who have kiwi's Jerome Haretuku and Dylan Tomlin and Czech National Team player Tomas Benda. The second game is against Dutch rivals Centrals with Czech National Team player Roman Matuska.

 

After the loss from Horsholm last night against Havlickuv Brod 5-4 in a tie breaker, both Decos EHS and Horsholm have to win to reach a nr1 or 2 spot which gives the teams an extra live in the play off round.

 

Although the tournament has an official website http://ec2008.hrosihb.cz/ it is not updated regularly so I will try to send out another game report tonight.
