6th Place AB 2 Horse Lake Thunder vs. 7th Newfoundland St. John’s Westside Charlies/Budlight
Westside Charlies/Budlight sent Rob Schwyer to the circle to face Preliminary Round Top Pitcher, Sean Whitten. Schwyer got the win giving up only 4 hits to Whitten’s 7. The game came down to the bottom of the 7th inning with Horse Lake down 2-0. Horse Lake loaded the bases with one out off a Darren Box walk. Logan Goodswimmer‘s single and an error by 3rd baseman Darrell Walsh on Keith Garbitt’s grounder.  A sacrifice fly by Johnathon Giroux brought in the Thunder’s first run but Allan Anderson was thrown out at first on real close play by Newfoundland shortstop Justin Gill.  Newfoundland scored it’s runs when BRAD Ezekiel lead off the game with a homerun and they later scored an unearned run by Colin Swain in the 6th. Tonight’s big game will see Saskatoon Aspen Interiors take on St.Thomas Evergreen Centennials at 6:30. We could see a pitching rematch of the ISC Tournament final, as Aspen’s Dean Holoien and St. Thomas’s Todd Martin both looked good last night. The round robin game these two teams played was a thrilling 8-inning affair, with Aspen scoring one in the bottom of the inning for the win. Aspen powered out 12 hits in that game while only giving up 5. Holoien and Martin both started but neither registered in the final decision
