More North Bay Worlds Senior Fastball

COLD SPRING CATS AND SHAKESPEARE ISOTOPE CAPTURE 22ND ANNUAL WORLDS IN NORTH BAY
Over the past Labor Day weekend some 28 teams took part in the 22nd annual Worlds Senior Fastball Championship in North Bay .Following the round robin play , the 28 teams were split into two conferences with the top 14 going to AA and the next 14 going to A.
Both Sudbury teams(Sudbury North Star Relics and the Athletics) made a good account of themselves as they placed in the top 14 but eventually lost in the quarter finals .
In the "A" Conference , Shakespeare Isotopes from Stratford first of all went 1-1-1 in round robin preliminary action and then went undefeated in the bracket championship winning all three 9-0 in quarter final action vs NorthBay Legion ;4-1 in semi final action vs Bear Island and 5-1 in the championship final vs Hamilton .Here are the members of the winning team:Kevin Yantzi,Mike Ferede,Jeff Lindner,Dave Graff,Paul Hyde,Tim Wagler,Trevor Juntzi ,Greg Barker ,Terry Gerber ,Jamie Everett ,Tim Steadman ,Tony Mastronanni ,Bill Fillings , Bill Davidson ,Ron Fisher and Ron Kreis
In the "AA" Conference , Cold Spring Cats from Coburg went undefeated givimg up just 5 runs in their seven victories .In preliminary round robin action they finished 3-0-0 giving up just 2 runs . In the bracket style championship round the defeated the Sudbury North Star Relics 4-3 in an exciting game followed by a nail bitting 2-1 victory over local North Bay Legion followed by a 7-0 win over Oshawa before defeating the Toronto Bingos 4-0 in the championship final. Members of the winning team were : Ron Ellis, Gary Vowles , Dave O'Connell , Keith Woodword , Kevin Woodward , Dan Stubbings ,Steve Parker , Danner Crouter , Edwart Timlin , Craig Halloway , Sam Forbes`, Marvin Moore , Rick Clark and Kevin Brahaney ..
