DOG HOUSE NORTH STARS
TAKE 2-1 LEAD IN SERIES

It
was once` again a battle of two titanic rivals in the pivotal game three of
the series Thursday night in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park. Much
differently than the first two games this one was a close match . Timely
hitting , a few fielding errors and some costly running errors gave way to a
9-7 victory for the North Stars over the Hounds of Garson . The North Stars
took a 3-2 lead after one and increased it to 6-2 after three innings of
play. Just like it seemed the North Stars would run away with it , the
Hounds bounced back to make it a one run ball game going to the bottom of
the sixth when Dog House scored a single to hang on to the 9-7 victory,
Randy Dennis (5-1) went all the way for the North Stars scattering 14 hits
and fanning 9 Hounds batters. Gary Lamothe (3-2) suffered the defeat giving
up 14 hits , issuing 5 walks and 4 North Star batters. The finals top
hitter catcher Jean Gilles Larocque from the North Stars continued his
offensive attack with a 3 for 3 performance and one walk - one of his hits
was a two run shot to strait away centre giving him three in the finals , 7
RBI's and an average of 900 (9 for 10) . Jean Gilles is also slugging at
1800. Other notable hitters for Dog House were Joel Belanger 3 for 4 ;Moe
Coutu 2 for 3 (triple) and Pitou Paquette 2 for 3 . Micky Chartrand and Al
Giles hit 2 for 3 in a losing cause for the Hounds . Robbie Edwards also hit
a two run homer for the Hounds. The fifth game in this series goes Monday
night in Azilda 8 PM .Should a fifth and deciding game be needed it would
return to Garson next Thursday September the 11th.
