Challenge Cup Wrap Up

Congratulations to the Elmira Advance Millwrights (Record 5-0) from the South Perth Mens Fastball League on winning the 2008 Ontario Challenge Cup in Innerkip and Hickson over this past Weekend. Elmira were presented with the Laverne Reichert Memorial Trophy and with the victory they have secured a berth in the 2009 Tournament of Champions to be held in Quad Cities on August 19th through 22nd/ 2009.
Elmira defeated the Belmont Black Sox (Record 5 wins – 2 losses) 7- 0 in the Championship game.
It was great way to close off the final days of summer, the weather was fantastic, you could not have placed an order
For better weather.
I must say a few Thank You’s to the a lot of people for making this a very successful and well run tournament

Groundscrew and Facilities – Jonathan Vink, Jonathan was on site every morning at 5:30 am to drag the diamonds,
Lime the diamonds and make sure the Park was Spotless which it was
To Our Umpire In Chief Tim Whitelaw and his experienced blue crew of 8, another great Job by all.
To Kyle Smith (ISC II – Official Designate) who took charge of our second site (Hickson) for (2) games on Friday night
And (4) games on Saturday and then came over to Innerkip and did whatever he had to do to make this run as smooth as it
Did. To our experienced group of ISC II game Controllers – Jim Marr, Laurie Fraser, and Chris Bach a tip of the hat.
To Al Doran for making the trip from Richmond Hill and keeping all of our loyal fans in touch with up to the dates scores and
