SOFTBALL ONTARIO CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SOFTBALLCANADA’S BLUE CONVENTION SCHOLARSHIP
NORTH YORK, ONTARIO– Softball Ontario is actively seeking applications for SoftballCanada’s Blue Convention Scholarship. The Blue Convention Scholarship isfunded through voluntary donations from Softball Canada’s Blue ConventionInstructors, Softball Canada’s Blue Convention registration fees, fundraisingadventures at Softball Canada Blue Convention and other voluntarydonations.
Softball Canada is looking for anyUmpire who is registered with Softball Ontario and is entering their first,second or subsequent year of post-secondary education to award one of two(2) $1000.00 scholarships to the successful applicant(s).
Softball Canada’s SelectionCriteria includes the following:
· Umpires applying mustbe in good standing with Softball Ontario
· Umpires must have been amember of Softball Ontario for three (3) years consecutively
· Letter of Support fromSchool, a Teacher or Professor
· Letter of Support from aCommunity Leader
· Candidates will be asked to explain how the scholarship will benefitthem

Applications for the SoftballCanada Blue Convention Scholarship must be submitted to the SoftballOntario office by December 1, 2008. Please note onlyapplications on the Blue Convention Scholarship Application Form accompaniedby the required letters of support and received by the deadline will beconsidered.
