Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with his wife Shirley (Waite) of 50 years at his side on Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at the age of 69.
Loving father of Bradley (Linda) Philp and Leanne (Ralph) Ballantyne. Leaving his cherished grandchildren Tyler, Blake and Brittany Philp also Joshua, Christopher and Nicole Katie Ballantyne. Devoted for life brother of Peter (Faye) Philp and John (Joan) Philp, sister-in-law Marilyn (Ron) Johnson and Bill (Susan) Waite. David will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, comrades and friends.
Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd from 2 – 4 P.M. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, November 24th at 1:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. Memorial donations the Shriners Hospital For Children, payable to Oshawa and District Shrine Club.
Dave was a loyal fan of the game of fastball for many many years. Travelling to just about every annual ISC World Tournament and to all the major tournaments in Ontario, Michigan and beyond each summer. He will be missed. AD
