AAU 2009 Thursday - Day 1
January 22, 2009
Orlando, FL
Thursday, January 22 - 1pm
Fantastic day in the ballyard!
Bright and sunny and we are playing ball on six diamonds.
Nothing like walking into a ball yard on a sunny day and seeing 12 teams warming up.
That hour or so before a tournament starts is the best part of the week.
2pm - have watched a bit of all six games and said hello to a lot of old friends.
At least one upset. CPI was leading Puerto Rico in the 6th; Winship out and PR scored six runs. Murphy out and Winship back in.
Posting official results as soon as I get them.
Nice chat with Darren Zack and Darren Jr. Zee is looking like a million dollars, all trim after winter workouts.
3pm - almost sad that the first six games are over. six more games starting now.

Wednesday evening and flight into Orlando was 30 minutes early. Hertz ate that up by moving their rental pick up spot a mile down the road.
Eventually got my wheels and am signed into the host hotel, The Clarion in Kissimmee. Weather is cool tonight but its supposed to warm up by Friday.
Teams in the lobby getting registered. Lots of familiar faces.
