The Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League of the Greater Region of Sudbury  is now accepting applications for teams                 and players ineterested in joining the league for the 2009 season . If interested in playing fastball in 2009 , submit your name with the following particulars : experience if any , home phone/cell number and e-mail address .A few players have already sent me their particulars. Calls will be made come Spring (late march or early April) . If interested in putting a team in give the same particulars.Entry fee for a team will range between $1 600 and $2 000 . The 2009 nseason promises to be exciting with rumours already of three new entriees- the return of the Falcons from Whitefish and the possible formation  of teams from Valley East  and Sturgeon Falls . A couple of teams from the North Shore have also shown interest in switching to our league ..Magnatewan will become the Perry Island Bears .There is also the possibility of  an interlocking schedule with the North Shore League and the Manitoulin League.The All Star Game returns to Sudbury in 2009 . The first major tournament in 2009 will be the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball tournament on June 12,13 and 14 at the Rick McDonald Memorial Sports Complex in Rayside .On the third weekend of August The Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League host the fourth annual Ladies and Men's Fastball Championship (past winners Ladies  Sudbury Selects in 2006 and 2007 [no ladsies in 2008];Sudbury North Stars in 2007 and 2007 while the Garson Hounds won in 2008) .
