Sidney White update

February 10, 2009

Eugene, OR

Dear Friends,

Mike and I wanted to send an update on Sidney’s condition. We visited OHSU again this week for a repeat MRI and visit with the Pediatric neurooncologist.  The MRI showed the lesion unchanged since the November scan. We were hoping it would have been gone all together, but are relieved that it has not increased in size.  We will have another MRI in 6 months to monitor it.

We are currently waiting to hear back from our insurance company to see if they will help cover the cost of treatment at the University of Florida. Sidney and I will go for a 3week intensive treatment program where they will have daily therapy sessions to help her with cognition and thought processes. Sidney is a very hard worker and gives 100% effort, whether it is school work, softball, volleyball, etc. We are confident that she will benefit so much from the therapy. She has made big strides while on the medication and is interacting and doing more every week.

We are so thankful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. It is the only thing getting us through this time and we truly believe it is the prayers and support that is getting Sidney better. We hope you continue to keep her in your prayers as we continue on the medication, therapy and repeat MRI’s.
