JOIN SOFTBALL ONTARIO’S NEW TRY SOFTBALL PARTNERSHIPPROGRAM

TrySoftballLogo_200px.jpgNORTH YORK, ONTARIO - Is your Softball Association finding it harder to make connections with your local elementary schools?  Softball Ontario is happy to launch a great new program designed to foster strong relationships between softball associations and the elementary schools in their community: the Try Softball PartnershipProgram.

Softball Ontario’ssuccessful Try Softball Program has been modified to help to build lasting connections between an association and its local schools.  Beginning February 10, 2009, Softball Ontario will offer Softball Associations the opportunity to run their own Try Softball Program in their own community –with equipment and supplies provided by Softball Ontario! 

When your Softball Association applies to become a Try Softball Partner Association, Softball Ontario will supply you with everything you need to run your own Try Softball Program, including equipment, resources, forms, mileage assistance, and even an honorarium for every school you reach.  In your initial package, you will receive enough resources to service up to six (6) elementary schools, or 600 students!

How does the TrySoftball Partnership Program work? 
With the materialsprovided by Softball Ontario, your Softball Association may lend a TrySoftball Kit to your local elementary school for a period of one (1) month –within the Try Softball Kit you will also provide the Elementary School with aLearn to Play Manual and a BlastBall Manual, as well as promotional items forthe students which will reinforce the promotional messages and give thestudents a connection with Softball Ontario.  Your Association isencouraged to included promotional materials (i.e. magnets, brochures,registration forms, etc) within the activity books to provide interestedstudents with the opportunity to register with your SoftballAssociation. 

Softball Ontario willprovide your Softball Association with both Mileage Assistance (up to 25 KM at$0.28 / KM) and an Honorarium ($10.00) for every school that you reach withthe Try Softball Program.  You will be provided with expense claim formsthat must be completed and returned to the Softball Ontario office, along withthe School’s completed request form and feedback survey, within 30 days of thecompletion of the school’s month long loan period.  Your school willqualify for up to $17.00 for every school you reach.

At the conclusion ofeach school year – or earlier, if your Softball Association decides it nolonger wishes to particiate in the Try Softball Partnership Program – the TrySoftball Kit equipment must be returned to the Softball Ontario office, alongwith any unused manuals.   

By participating in theTry Softball Partnership Program, your Association will be able to build astrong connection with your local elementary schools, connect with potentialplayers on a new level, and raise some money for your SoftballAssociation!

How do I becomea Try Softball Partner Association? 
To become a Try Softball PartnerAssociation, contact Lisa Crompton by email at
lcrompton@softballontario.ca and request an Application Form.  Once you have been accepted as a Partner Association, you will receive your Try Softball Partner Package and will be able to begin offering the Try Softball Program in your community!
