From June 5-7, 2009 Centennial Park in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON will once again play host to the Snapper Shootout. It is year #6 for the Shootout and like fine wine that gets better with age, we hope to offer the attending teams and fans another memorable event. In 2008 the California Lumkerkings made the trek east and captured the Shootout title with a 3-1 win over the Palermo Athletics.
The group of 16 teams appears to be set and like 2008, the Shootout will see ISC and ISC II players come together. Quality ISC II teams have committed and each team will be allowed to carry up to 2 ISC rated players regardless of position. Taking six games to win the Shootout has proven to be a true test to a teams endurance considering the relatively early season date. With that said, we expect the calibre of play to be very high and we would like to invite fastball fans to Niagara for a great weekend of ball and everything else the region has to offer. We are also pleased to announce that Howard Johnson By The Falls in Niagara Falls, ON http://www.hojobythefalls.com has stepped up and agreed to act as the host hotel for this years tournament. The Shootout will once again have a licensed beer garden centralized, giving fans a great view of all three diamonds while they enjoy a cold beverage. Also, the Shootout concession stand hosted by the Snapperettes and friends will be offering great food at affordable prices.
